Well, it's that time again...I've hit the proverbial plateau after just being back in the workout game-and I've only been working out since April. Gained a lot of muscle quick (muscle memory from a couple of years ago), but now I feel like I'm getting weaker.
Still taking normal amount of protein supplement, and eating well...filled with lots of protein. But I feel like a ***** have the time I lift, and the motivation is creeping away as well. OTOH, I am still doing cardio 3-4 times a week. But no longer than 20-25 mins.

Now how the funk do I get over this BS plateau region, and back to getting swoled like I'm supposed to?

Have you been doing the same routine? If so, its is time to switch things up. Try a circuit program, or only do plyometrics. If your cardio is all bike, then switch to running/swimming/hoops/tennis, or anything different.

My point is just change what you are doing for a few weeks.

At this point you should consider steroids.

just kidding........or am I?

don't do it man.....just don't do it. Just because you can't get up for "it" while lifting is your own damn fault. You gotta find a way to get phsiyched each time. It's like hypnosis. On Your way to the gym, look at the punk crossing the street ahead of you and the way he looks at you like-as-if-he-can-kick-your-ass-only-because-he-wears-his-cap-sideways-and-his-pants-hanging-loose-like-he-shit-them-two-hours-ago.................you know all along you can kick the mutha's ass. Use that moto going the gym and just pump the weights. Carry it out on the weights my freind. The bigger you get, the less they fvck with ya.

I'm still pretty motivated..i just seem to cut my sets by a couple of reps here and there. And I do always change up my exercises.
I'll never juice.

Have you ever tried any supplements? I work out at 5am 5 days a week. I take NO-Explode before I go to the gym. It usually kicks in while I am driving to the gym. I have a ton of energy and I am very focused on my workout. I am 38 and my motivation really comes and goes.

It's rediculous how many reps you can do on that stuff huh? I'm just like damn. 10 sets of 5 and I'm still not tired.

RobFUnk,

NOX is awesome. I have tried M5 from cellular and nanoVapor from Muscletech. Neither can match the energy and pump I get from NOX. I know everyone is different but this stuff works awesome for me. If you are going to try the M5, get ready to crap your brains out every 10 min. The nanovapor has a ton of niacin in it, alll I felt was a timgle in my arms my whole workout.

I've been thinking about No Xplode for a while now, but I am afraid that I will get too acclimated to it too quickly. I have a pretty high tolerance for alcohol, etc...and I don't think this stuff would work for more than a couple of weeks...not to mention it is not cheap. I would take hydroxycut and ripped fuel (not at the same time) in college, and those things would make a dent in my workout after about a week.

If No X were a little cheaper, it would make the decision a little easier.

I can't really tell you how to get to the next level. I am sure you know more about that stuff than I do. However, I will say this. To me, working out is a lot like shooting free throws. It's 90% mental and 10% physical.
